A new beginning
Feb 8th, 2023
It has been about a week since I started this journey of being a full-time writer. It has also been over a year since I wrote the last sentence into the draft of Book 1. Needless to say, I’m a little rusty around the edges.
But having taken this break from writing has helped put things into perspective. And the perspective is…not what I expected. Last week when I returned to the draft, I was sure I would find a clear and concise story thread with which to work with. Instead what I found was a convoluted mess of outlines, chapters, ideas and notes scattered around multiple applications and physical notebooks (which, by the way, look like they were written by a madman). The keyword here is clusterf**k.
I needed to spend the first week just un-f**king the mess and today was finally the day when I laid down some actual words for the draft. I hope that throughout the next weeks and months, as the draft unfolds, I’ll be able to share more and more of the book as it takes shape.
For now, I’d like to thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. At this point, I still know all of you personally, so don’t be afraid to drop me a line.
Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in the next one.
BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS
In each newsletter, I’ll highlight some inspiring book recommendations.
The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
A psychological thriller about a psychotherapist determined to break the silence of a woman who had murdered her husband.
Warning: might keep you up at night.
Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey
One of the most honest, fun, and oddball memoirs I have ever read. If you can, get the audio version, hearing McConaughey narrate it is priceless.
